Developers of 143 Sound Beach Ave met resistance from neighbors and the P&Z commission on Tuesday. Concerns included traffic congestion, parking, and the balance of retail and residential in the “mixed use” building.

Planning & Zoning Set to Decide on “Attics & Basements” Proposal on Tuesday

Tuesday night’s Planning and Zoning meeting (March 7), which starts at 7:00pm at Town Hall, will include a long-awaited decision on a proposal to change the way Floor Area Ratio is calculated in Greenwich.
With attics and basements calculated in FAR a lot of older homes are being scrapped in favor of new ones with flatter roofs and terraced walls to bury basements. Sam Bridge Neighbor to P&Z: I’m not a reindeer hater. I object to a month-long carnival.

A neighbor of Sam Bridge Nursery and Greenhouses objected to what he called a month-long carnival, referring to the reindeer festival which runs over four weeks and includes a generator to power two amusement rides: a train and carousel.
