Parks & Rec Announces 2016 Provisional Beach Policy with Important Changes from 2015

It is important that park users are aware that the Daily Park Passes have been replaced by a Single Entry Park Pass, the difference being the single entry park pass is good for ONE entry to one of four parks/beaches. Single Entry Park Passes and Single Entry Parking Passes will not be sold at Town Hall. Interesting Parks & Rec Vote on Extending Dog Season at the Beach

“Most people were upset that there isn’t much enforcement down there. And when you try to enforce it, there is a very contentious response. People aren’t following the rules and the extension of it would just aggravate it more.” – Nancy Caplan, chair of the board of Parks & Rec on extending the dog season at Greenwich Point by two weeks in the fall and two weeks in the spring for a total of five months. Are Greenwich Beaches Too Crowded?

When a caller to Ask the Selectman asked Peter Tesei if anything could be done about Greenwich overcrowded beaches on weekends, he was sympathetic and acknowledged he’s heard the complaint many times this year. He said he’d witnessed the problem himself and that our beaches are increasingly a destination.
