On Thursday night Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei presented his recommended budget for the fiscal year starting July 1, 2019 and ending on June 30, 2020 to the BET. BOE to Superintendent: Slice “Opportunity Block” to Half Hour

Without a full 45 minute opportunity block, it will not be possible to offer students a full credit course at the end of the school day. The BOE advised the administration to devise a structured 30 minutes for students who are not excused for sports or school sanctioned activity so that they don’t just leave school early.
