At the Connecticut Science and Engineering Fair in mid-March, 17 GHS students competed and an astounding 16 of these kids were selected among the top 15% of projects, as fair finalists, and went on to win more than $85,000 in scholarships and cash, and five of the six ISEF spots that are awarded to the best projects. There was much energy in the air at convocation which was held in the GHS performing arts center on Monday morning. Speakers included Ralph Mayo, Peter Bernstein, student government president Alexander Kosyakov, GEA president Carol Sutton, and CT Teacher of the Year Program Michele Giorlando DeRosa.
