YWCA Greenwich is now enrolling students for the 2026–2027 academic year at the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Preschool Center, a nationally recognized early childhood education program serving children ages 15 months to 5 years old.
Licensed by Connecticut’s Office of Early Childhood and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the preschool provides a
nurturing and engaging learning environment designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and confidence in young learners.

With a diverse and international student body, the preschool emphasizes purposeful play, social-emotional development, and hands-on learning experiences that help children build a lifelong love of learning. Programs are tailored to each stage of development and encourage exploration through STEAM activities, music, art, movement, outdoor play, and collaborative learning.
YWCA Greenwich’s preschool curriculum also includes enrichment opportunities, including Spanish, music, yoga, gymnastics, and swimming. These experiences are
designed to support students and help them develop independence, communication skills, and self-confidence.
As part of YWCA Greenwich’s Building for Our Future campaign, preschool families will soon benefit from newly renovated classrooms scheduled to open in Fall 2026. The enhanced learning spaces are being thoughtfully designed to support innovative early childhood education, providing children with bright, modern classrooms that encourage creativity, exploration, and collaboration. These improvements reflect YWCA Greenwich’s ongoing commitment to investing in children, families, and the future of the
community.
“Our preschool program creates a warm and supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive,” said YWCA Greenwich’s Director of Early Childhood Education, Geri Smiles. “We are proud to provide families with a high-quality early education experience that prepares children for future academic and social success.”
Current preschool parent Megan Sullivan credits the YWCA Greenwich Preschool
with helping her children thrive both academically and socially.
“My preschool experience at the YWCA has been truly amazing for all three of my children and our entire family,” she said. “The teachers are extremely loving and genuinely invested in each child’s growth and success. They embrace each child’s unique personality while encouraging them to build confidence, develop new skills, and strive to reach their full potential. The nurturing environment, dedicated staff, and strong sense of community have made the YWCA an incredibly positive and rewarding part of our family’s journey here in Greenwich.”
Located on YWCA Greenwich’s campus, the preschool offers flexible scheduling options and a strong sense of community for children and families alike.
