P&Z Response to New Berkley Office Proposal that “Moves” Non-Conformities: “It’s not a coupon”

The P&Z commissioners again took issue with “moving non-conformities” from property to property. Neighbors said based on noise from mechanicals at the existing Berkley building at 475 Steamboat Rd, they were fearful about noise from the proposed office building. Berkley Insurance Co Seeks to Demo Several Buildings in Area of Steamboat Rd, Construct New Office Building

Berkley Insurance Co recently purchased properties at 44-59 Davenport Ave and 537-545 Steamboat Road. They are occupied today by a four-story and two-story office building, as well as both surface and underground parking, plus two residential dwellings and an iron works with office space. P&Z Questions New Train Station Plan about Its “Mid-Century Modern” Architecture

The new proposal for Greenwich Train Station and Greenwich Plaza focuses on the north side of the development.
