Neighbor to Neighbor Announces New Board and Staff Changes as Need Rises

 

 
  Neighbor to Neighbor has been Greenwich’s only dedicated food pantry for more than 50 years, filling gaps in the community with the support of donors, volunteers, and partners. As needs shift, the organization has shifted with them. And today, the need is greater than ever. Rising costs of food, gas, and other everyday expenses, along with changes to eligibility for federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, have pushed Neighbor to Neighbor’s client numbers up 13% compared to this time last year. And more than 11,000 families across Fairfield County are at risk of losing some or all of their SNAP benefits, a change expected to have a ripple effect on Neighbor to Neighbor and other food pantries in the area. Avon Theatre in Stamford Launches Transformative Renovation Project of Historic Movie Theater

The Avon is closed for construction, which began in January 2026, and is slated to reopen in Spring 2027. The new theater will feature three state-of the art cinemas, all new seating, expanded educational facilities, welcome community gathering spaces including a cafe and wine bar, and will be ADA compliant.
