Enforcement of Mandatory Watering Ban in Greenwich Allows Greenwich Police to Issue Fines

On Thursday the Board of Selectmen will enact Article 5 of the Town’s ordinances, which pertains to water conservation. The ordinance stems back to the late 1970s, early 1980s when Greenwich’s water supplies dwindled to a just a two-week supply.
On Monday night First Selectman Peter Tesei said that once the ordinance is activated, it will provide Greenwich Police the mechanism to enforce with fines. Continue Reading →

Board of Selectmen’s Field Trip to New Leb Ravine: Visualizing a New School

On Friday a group of about 20 members of the BET, RTM Board of Education, the Schools Superintendent, neighborhood residents, media, candidates for the building committee and all three selectmen walked the perimeter of the proposed New Lebanon School, the longest portion of which parallels the edge of the ball field and forms a horseshoe that opens onto wetland and woodland. Greenwich Harbor Management Commission Déja Vu: Get a Legal Opinion. Get a Plan.

Ian MacMillan, the Town’s state appointed Harbor Master, sat silently at  Wednesday night’s Harbor Management Commission (HMC) meeting at Greenwich Town Hall. Conversation devolved to the same contentious arguments that have been brought up time and time again concerning who has ultimate jurisdiction over the harbors of Greenwich. Again and again the commission and larger than usual audience who turned out on a cold night, reminded themselves there still is no harbor management plan. HMC member Bruce Angiolillo distributed dozens of spiral bound, tabbed copies of a presentation he prepared containing seven sections.
