This year, two Greenwich teens were named to state and federal positions in the American Legion Auxiliary’s Girls State and Boys State. Willa Doss, a rising senior at Greenwich High School, was elected Governor of “Laurel,” the fictional state of Girls State. Diego Jasson, a rising senior at Brunswick, was elected as one of two Senators from Connecticut to attend Boys Nation. Girls State was held at Post University in Waterbury, and Boys State was held at Eastern Connecticut State University. Both programs lasted five days. Continue Reading →

Alissa Landberg is the senior class president for the class of 2018 and she’s very excited for the upcoming year.
“I wanted to challenge myself and really see what I could do in a more serious position.” Alissa said about her decision to run for senior class president. She is only the second female student to be elected to this position at Greenwich High School in the last ten years.
Jack Badini graduated GHS midway through his junior year and headed to Illinois by way of Nebraska to play hockey. Most recently he was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks. In the fall, he heads to Harvard University. Continue Reading →
With the new school year ringing in a change in start time at GHS, the concern that shorter daylight hours for sports games and practices is being weighed against the outdated lighting in Cardinal Stadium and deed restrictions resulting from a settlement with residential neighbors.
