On Wednesday at noon, Greenwich’s Tree Warden Bruce Spaman held a public hearing on the fate of a Pin Oak tree on Mead Ave in Byram which is a stone’s throw from New Lebanon School. The tree is on the side of Mead Ave with no utility wires, but there is a second massive Pin Oak across the street that has grown around the wires. That too may be in jeopardy. Founder’s Day Features Unveiling of Restored Feake-Ferris House c1645 in Old Greenwich

Wednesday, July 18 was Founder’s Day, a tradition in Greenwich since 1947. To mark the occasion the Feake-Ferris House, c1645, which was restored rather than demolished, was open for tours. Greenwich Tree Conservancy Benefit Reimagines McArdle’s as a Tree House

In less than ten years, Greenwich has lost about 3,000 of its trees. Residents are too familiar with the sight of massive trees falling across roads and power lines during storms and hurricanes. At a benefit at McArdle’s on Friday, the Greenwich Tree Conservancy reaffirmed its commitment to replace lost trees.
