At the CIAC Class LL boys outdoor track championships in New Britain on May 30, the Cardinals celebrated earning the team title, finishing ahead of rivals from Hamden. But the win was overturned by CIAC after a religious accommodation allowed a Hamden athlete to compete in the MM meet the following day, Sunday and have his points apply to the previous day’s event. The situation is unprecedented. GHS athletes and parents asked the CIAC to review how the situation was handled.

The first annual Librarian’s Award is named for Kate McClelland, for 29 years a beloved librarian at Old Greenwich’s Perrot Library, who died in a car accident in 2009.
Ms. McClelland, known as “Mrs. Mac,” was VP/President-elect of the Association of Library Services to Children.
