“Greenwich Braves the Shave” is the 18th St. Baldrick’s fundraiser organized by Kerry Gavin. Ciccarelli, a Greenwich native and father of two Maverick players, Antonio (12) and Daniel (10), made a bet with his Junior team in the fall that he would shave his head if they won the championship. Swim Across America Fairfield County raised $385,000 in 2018 for its beneficiary, the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy (ACGT). The funds were raised during the group’s open water swim and other fundraising activities throughout the year in 2018. The funds raised support cancer gene therapy research funded by ACGT. In the past 12 years, Swim Across America Fairfield County events have raised more than $3.8 million for crucial support of the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy (ACGT).
