New Head Field Hockey Coach Named at Greenwich High School

Megan Wax was named Head Field Hockey Coach by Greenwich High School Athletic Director Gus Lindine. Coach Wax is replacing Ally Orrico, who resigned in August after many years as head coach of the Cardinals.

Megan began her coaching career at EO Smith High School, working as a varsity assistant and junior varsity field hockey coach. In 2012 she joined the Greenwich High School Athletic Staff. Over the past seven years she has coached field hockey, girls basketball and girls lacrosse. Having coached at every level in the field hockey program, Coach Wax has been a key part of the coaching staff and has helped lead the team to the 2012 FCIAC Championship as well as FCIAC Western Division Championships in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017.

As a student-athlete at Immaculate High School in Danbury, Megan was a four year varsity member and captain on the field hockey, basketball and lacrosse teams. She was recognized as an All-Division player as well as an All-Conference Academic Award recipient. Upon graduation, she chose to pursue her academics at the University of Connecticut, where she was accepted into the prestigious NEAG School of Education’s integrated Bachelors/Master’s Program for secondary mathematics education.

As a vital member of the Greenwich Public Schools, Megan has been diverse in her many experiences. In addition to teaching mathematics at Eastern Middle School, Coach Wax is a vital member of the school’s Safe School Climate Committee as well as a co-advisor for the Student Council Association.
