Enforcement of Mandatory Watering Ban in Greenwich Allows Greenwich Police to Issue Fines

On Thursday the Board of Selectmen will enact Article 5 of the Town’s ordinances, which pertains to water conservation. The ordinance stems back to the late 1970s, early 1980s when Greenwich’s water supplies dwindled to a just a two-week supply.

Safe Boating Course at Greenwich Police HQ

A one-day Coast Guard Auxiliary “About Boating Safely” course provides qualification for a CT motorboat operator’s permit, as well as a Personal Watercraft (PWC) Operator’s Permit which is also acceptable for a New York boating license. Greenwich Emergency Services Kept Busy with Black Ice on Sunday

Greenwich’s emergency service agencies fielded numerous calls concerning car collisions and slip-and-fall accidents. The DPW highway division worked diligently to dress the roads, but roads, especially bridges were icy. One police officer suffered a knee injury helping GEMS carry a patient on a stretcher. In all, there were 28 car accidents, of which 10 involved minor injuries. Continue Reading →
