Brunswick, Greenwich High School Coaches Collaborate for the Love of Football

“There have been comments, ‘You’re going to lose a player to Brunswick,'” GHS Head football coach John Marinelli said. “It just doesn’t work that way. Kids have made up their mind where to go – We’re not recruiting against each other.” Marinelli and Brunswick head football coach Jarrett Shine support each other and are reaching out to Greenwich Youth Football League (GYFL) to offer a camp Aug. 17-19, as well as a Brunswick-GHS Day, where GYFL players can watch a high school practice and scrimmage on Aug. 29.

GHS Social Studies Teacher Appointed Interim GHS Bella House Administrator

Lucy Arecco has been appointed Interim Greenwich High School Bella House Administrator, effective immediately.

Ms. Arecco received a bachelor of arts degree in history from Yale University, graduating cum laude with distinction in major in 1995; a juris doctor in law from the University of Connecticut School of Law, Hartford, CT in 1998 and was admitted to the New York and Connecticut bars. Hannah Storm’s Advice to Greenwich High School Class of ’16: Believe You Can, Work Hard, Take Risks

Hannah Storm wanted to be a sports journalist after college. She received hundreds of rejection letters. She finally got a job as a heavy metal DJ. “It was a start. I was on the air,” she said, adding that her first full time TV job was covering NASCAR, which she said at the time felt like a foreign language. “Get out of your comfort zone,” she advised. Cross Your Fingers for Sunshine at Greenwich High School’s Tuesday Graduation…

The decision to hold Greenwich High School graduation inside or outside will be made at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 21st. In the event of rain, two ceremonies will be held. The first ceremony is for graduates with the last name beginning L-Z at 4:00pm and the second at 7:15pm for graduates with the last names beginning A-K. Continue Reading →

Greenwich Board of Ed Endorse Later School Start Time, Ask Bus Consultant for a Little More Study

At New Lebanon School Tuesday night the Board of Education met to host another public hearing on school start time changes and hold a vote. While they did vote to endorse a later start time at Greenwich High School, they did not vote for option 11, but rather asked the School Bus Consultants to go back to the drawing board with a wish list that includes having all schools start between 8:00 and 8:45am.
