Trailblazing Success for Parkway Elementary School

A Twinkle in the Eyes of Future Police Was Evident at Greenwich’s Annual Police Day

Saturday was the perfect day for the fourth annual Police Day in Greenwich. This year the Junior League of Greenwich collaborated. Captain Kordick worked the hot dog grill and Chief Heavy made families feel welcome. Children enjoyed the moon bounce and frozen ices donated by Give me Five, Inc., in addition to tours of the Special Response Unit truck and a police patrol car. Continue Reading →

Ready for the Ride: 48 Incoming AVID Students Sign Contracts

The incoming 9th grade class of AVID students were welcomed by upperclassmen in AVID who vowed for the inspiration and support system it provides. More than one described it as like family. After the introduction all 48 students and their parents signed contracts and came together for a group photograph. Concerns Raised by Pemberwick-Glenville Association: Speeding Cars, Lack of Sidewalks

At the spring meeting of the Pemberwick-Glenville Association, Steve Warzoha gave a snapshot of the Byram Park and Pool project. There was also heated discussion about speeding cars on Almira Drive, a cut-through from Pemberwick to Rte 1. Almira Drive has no sidewalks and children must walk to the bus stop. Another complaint was that car dealerships send test drives through Weaver Street where they reach speeds of 60mph and higher. Continue Reading →
