On Tuesday May 26 Greenwich Schools are publishing an online survey for parents, students in 8012th grade, and staff district wide to gauge the level of interest for a delayed start time at GHS. Greenwich Dance Studio Spring Performance, “Masterpiece,” Fills SUNY Purchase Concert Hall

Greenwich Dance Studio’s 11th annual spring performance, with the theme “Masterpiece” filled the SUNY Purchase Performing Arts Center concert hall on Saturday. Hundreds of girls danced across the stage in the packed concert hall, which seats over 1,300+ people. This year’s performance was extra special, as it marked Greenwich Dance Studio’s first year with its own dance studio complex. Why Film Matters: 6th Annual Avon Scholarship Essay Competition

Sue Baker, Avon Board member and chair of the Avon Education Initiative Committee, will introduce the winners and present them with prizes totaling $7,500. Scholarship monies are funded from donations to the Avon Red Carpet Festival and the Avon Annual Appeal. Powerful Messages about Drunk & Distracted Driving at GHS Safe Driving Day

Safe Driving Day at GHS, which is a project of Health teacher Kathy Steiner’s Outreach Club, benefited from the type of perfect May weather least associated with tragic car crashes. But the mangled wreck of a red sports car in the bus circle was enough to give anyone pause. Then there was the “Convincer,” a seconds-long “ride” that simulates a car crash at just 5 miles per hour. Neighbors Bristle Over Speeding Traffic on Almira Drive

Almira Drive is a popular cut-through for shoppers and commuters from Pemberwick and across the state line in Westchester seeking get to Weaver Street office Parks, or to Route 1. Almira Drive has no sidewalk. Neighbors seek speed limit enforcement, stop signs and return of the Almira Drive school bus stop to South Hawthorne. Not so fast, is the response of DPW.
