After rejecting a 70-unit proposal with 12 affordable units in 2017, the Greenwich Planning & Zoning commission approved Joe Tranfo’s 120-unit 6-story building in May 2024. The development will feature two structures separated by a driveway, a total of 120 units and 180 parking spaces. The steep slope from Bruce Museum down to Steamboat Rd has been a challenge in terms of a planting plan. The applicant seeks to relocate the stone wall along Steamboat Road, lower it and push it back so the sidewalk can be doubled in width from 5 ft to 10 ft, and allow space for street trees and seven decorative street pole lights to match the ones on Greenwich Ave.
