Ready for the Ride: 48 Incoming AVID Students Sign Contracts

The incoming 9th grade class of AVID students were welcomed by upperclassmen in AVID who vowed for the inspiration and support system it provides. More than one described it as like family. After the introduction all 48 students and their parents signed contracts and came together for a group photograph. P&Z Strikes Down More Distance Separation Rules for Greenwich Restaurant Liquor Licenses

Soon there may be restaurants side-by-side where liquor is served. In the village of Old Greenwich, this means that Beach House Café may find Sweat Pea’s, ReNapoli Pizza or even Oriental Gourmet seeking liquor permits. In Cos Cob, the Drawing Room could potentially apply for a liquor license despite being across the street from Coast in Mill Pond. Do You Remember Your Favorite Teacher? These Six Greenwich Distinguished Teachers Won’t Soon Be Forgotten

Central Middle School’s auditorium was full on Tuesday afternoon for the Distinguished Teachers Awards ceremony. Six teachers who had been nominated in many cases by their students, were congratulated for their innovation and passion for teaching. State Senator Scott Frantz, Selectman John Toner, Superintendent Bill McKersie and Board of Education Chair Barbara O’Neill all delivered remarks.
