Failure to Appear Charges in Greenwich Catch up with Man after Six Years

police cellGreenwich Police investigators were at the Stamford Superior Court House on April 30 when Raymond Vega, 31, of 1002 Grand St in Bridgeport, arrived via a Correctional Transportation bus from the Carl Robinson Correctional Institution in Enfield.

Vega was being transported to the Stamford Superior Court House in relation to a Greenwich Police Department arrest on April 12, 2009. He was being held at the Carl Robinson Correctional Facility on a $750 bond.

The original charges in Greenwich were for Illegal Possession Weapon in a Motor Vehicle, Illegal Operation of a Motor Vehicle Under Suspension and Failure to Drive in Proper Lane. Vega is now being charged with Failure to Appear 1st Degree, for failing to appear for his scheduled court date of June 12, 2009. Raymond Vega was located and detained by the Connecticut Judicial Marshals.

Vega was advised of the Greenwich Police warrant. He was arrested and taken into custody, processed and assigned a court date of May 5 in Stamford Superior Court.

Vega was then turned over to the Connecticut Judicial Marshals for same day arraignment.
