Taking the New SAT This Weekend? What to Expect and How to Be Empowered

“What do I do if another student is distracting during the test?, how do I react when a proctor is standing over me?, what do I do if I’m seated without a view of the clock?, what can be done when there is an outside distraction?, what kind of calculator is allowed?, what happens if a proctor mis-times a section? (yes, it happens frequently), what happens if I mis-grid in the answer bubbles?, what do I do if given a defective booklet? (rare, but it happened in many schools in 2015), how many essay sheets does a proper booklet have? With the new SAT, even proctors might not be sure of all these answers. Anthony Lopez Forms “One Greenwich Group”

“After nine years in Brooklyn, I fulfilled a promise to my wife and moved her back to Greenwich. However, we did not move back to her childhood home, Wilbur Peck Court. She too recalls residents with roach infestations, mice, and substandard living conditions. That was almost twenty years ago. Things have since gotten much, much worse.” – Anthony Lopez Continue Reading →

Dispatch from New Hampshire: Lisa Wexler on Last Day before Primary Election

“I’m at a political rock concert. Crowd a bit scruffy, angry, passionate. The Donald intros his beautiful family, then takes the stage for an hour. Rhetoric in a million directions, constantly interrupts himself with random thoughts and comments, mostly about the nuances and his grievances about the campaign itself. Uses the word “pussy” for mere shock value; the man is a born entertainer…” – Lisa Wexler, radio personality reporting from New Hampshire Continue Reading →
