Neighbors Bristle Over Speeding Traffic on Almira Drive

Almira Drive is a popular cut-through for shoppers and commuters from Pemberwick and across the state line in Westchester seeking get to Weaver Street office Parks, or to Route 1. Almira Drive has no sidewalk. Neighbors seek speed limit enforcement, stop signs and return of the Almira Drive school bus stop to South Hawthorne. Not so fast, is the response of DPW. Broad Expansion of 20 MPH School Speed Zones Approved

Concerns Raised by Pemberwick-Glenville Association: Speeding Cars, Lack of Sidewalks

At the spring meeting of the Pemberwick-Glenville Association, Steve Warzoha gave a snapshot of the Byram Park and Pool project. There was also heated discussion about speeding cars on Almira Drive, a cut-through from Pemberwick to Rte 1. Almira Drive has no sidewalks and children must walk to the bus stop.
