Malloy Talks Transportation During Stop at Greenwich Train Station to Support Greenwich Democrats

Governor Malloy arrived at Greenwich train station on Wednesday night where a throng of Democratswere waiting. He talked about his transportation initiative and said he is happy to work with Greenwich on its transportation challenges. “We need to move people ever quicker in and out of New York city,” Malloy said. Democrat candidate for First Selectman Frank Farricker said there is a waiting list of 2,500 Greenwich residents for commuter parking and said he would work to build a parking deck on the Island Beach lot if elected. Rte 1 Closures Chapter 2: Putnam Ave Water Main Break Damaged Verizon Cable, Road Closures to Impact Morning Commute

After this weekend’s water main break and closure of Rte 1 in Cos Cob by Toyota dealership, Greenwich Polcie have been informed by CT Dept. of Transportation that due to collateral damage to a fiber optic cable 24-48 hours of work to repair will shut the lanes, again, between Indian Field and Strickland. DPW to Schedule Mason Street Detour for Drainage Improvement Project

The Board of Selectmen approved a one-week partial intersection closure at Lexington and Mason Street, to Putnam Ave. Engineers from the Dept of Public Works said construction start time hinges on moving a gas line. Ct Natural Gas first needs to get an easement to move a gas line that impacts YMCA property. Once that’s finalized the work, Phase 1 of two phases will begin. Continue Reading →
