GHS Cardinal Fit Club Gives Students a Taste of Boxing, Courtesy Greenwich YMCA

On Friday, the Cardinal Fit Club, in collaboration with the YMCA, organized a ‘Back to School Boot Camp’ event during lunch block in the Greenwich High School Student Center. According to Reese Ochoa, a senior in the Cardinal Fit Club, the club is dedicated to help kids stay in shape with through events like the one on Friday and from occasional guest speakers with topics including nutrition for athletes. Last year the club partnered with Green & Tonic. During lunch shifts, students sampled smoothies, including “The Warrior,” made from made from coconut water, kale, spinach and banana. VIDEO: Safe Driving Day at GHS Features Simulated Crash and Extrication of Passenger

During Tuesday’s Safe Driving Day simulation of a distracted driving crash with fatalities, Officer Shane Geary commented on the consequences for a distracted driver causing a fatality. “His future is ruined. GHS alum Scooter Braun, who has managed talent including Justin Bieber, will be the keynote speaker at an event billed as, “Stress, Success and Teenage Setbacks: What to Expect the Teen” on Thursday, April 28 at the Teen Center on Arch Street in Greenwich.
