Greenwich School Board Tie Vote Means Motion to Extend Super’s Contract through 2029 Fails

An action item at the end of Thursday’s school board meeting on extending the Superintendent’s contract ended in a tie vote, which meant the motion to extend failed. Greenwich School Board Reverses Itself on Pre-K at Riverside School Renovation Ed Specs

BOE member Veronica Chiavaroli said other Greenwich elementary schools already house district programs besides their K-5 responsibilities. Riverside does not. Pre-K for children age 3, 4 and 5 is required by federal law to be provided for free for special education students who are in class with peer students who pay tuition. Historic Greenwich Municipal Election Sees Finance Board Control Go to Democrats; Republican First Selectman Camillo Wins 4th Term

At Bosco’s in Old Greenwich Democrats were joyful their party wrested control of the all-powerful finance board, the Board of Estimate and Taxation, and its chairmanship that comes with a tie-breaking vote.
