The Night Sky: Mars

Several factors recently converged to allow for a decent picture of Mars to be taken at the Mary Aloysia Hardey Observatory.  Better sky conditions, software, hardware and refined imaging procedures all helped attain this image. Most importantly, Mars finally presented an interesting and feature-rich side Earthward during this session. Most features on Mars’s have Latin names but there are exceptions. Some highlights from this Mars picture are:

Head to the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich to Say Goodbye to Birdie This Weekend

The Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich is staging performances of “Bye Bye Birdie: Young Performers Edition” this weekend. The cast has boys and girls aged six through 18. The 65 performers hail from all parts of Town and multiple schools, including GHS Thespians. There were no cuts during auditions. Greenwich Chamber’s Culinary Showcase Set for May 14

Greenwich Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its Annual Business & Culinary Showcase on Wednesday, May 14th from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Eastern Greenwich Civic Center. Bill Evans, Channel 7 TV newscaster will be guest emcee of this event, which the Greenwich Chamber director said is  the largest business networking event of the year. Over 70 tabletop exhibitors will demonstrate and showcase their businesses.  The presenting sponsor is Optimum. Food and beverages will be provided by fifteen exhibitors, multiple raffle prizes and valet parking are all included for $20 per person.
