Ms. Wiercioch was drafted into the Polish Army in 1942 at the age of 16 during the war against Germany. He was captured in October of that year and spent over two years as a prisoner of war in Germany assigned to hard labor on the railroad. A pre-application has been submitted to the Greenwich Planning & Zoning Commission for a development of residential units totaling 19,000+ sq ft in the parking lot next to the historic Armory on Mason Street, at the corner of Havemeyer Place. The proposal would not preserve the historic drill shed. Applicant’s rendering of conceptual proposal for the “drill shed” at the historic Armory. Hudson Valley Honor Flight (HVHF) is a nonprofit organization honoring American veterans for all their sacrifices by bringing them to Washington, D.C. to visit their respective war memorials at no cost to them.
