The Town of Greenwich Department of Public Works announced on Tuesday that the full road closure on North Street for the North Street Bridge
Replacement Project will end by the start of the school year.
On August 28, North Street will reopen to traffic.
As construction continues, motorists should expect alternating one-way traffic and temporary traffic disruptions during the workday as needed for construction activities. Police and/or flaggers will direct traffic when necessary.

The end of the full road closure does not mark the completion of the bridge replacement project. Construction will continue, and traffic controls may be implemented as needed to accommodate ongoing work.
This critical infrastructure project will replace an aging bridge and improve long-term safety and reliability for the community. Construction began in March 2026 and is expected to be completed in spring 2027.
Motorists are encouraged to follow posted signage and directions from police or flaggers when traveling through the area. Residents are encouraged to allow additional travel time and remain attentive to changing traffic patterns
