Greenwich High School Sports Hall of Fame Events Planned for Homecoming Saturday

The 2016 GHS Sports Hall of Fame ceremony will begin with a pre-game introduction prior to the kick off at the Homecoming football game vs Trumbull High School this year. The class of 2016 will be introduced on the field at Cardinal Stadium at 2:45pm. The induction ceremony and banquet will begin following the game at the Greenwich Water Club at 49 River Road in Cos Cob at 7:00pm.-10:00pm.

Greenwich Police to Display “Thank a Cop” Banner Signed by Hundred As a Reminder of Residents’ Gratitude

In addition to delivering a banner signed by hundreds of Greenwich residents during Joey B’s “Thank a Cop Day” on Tuesday, Domenick Delfino presented the Police Chief’s Scholarship funds with $1,300 that reflected donations from residents during the event. GHS Girls Swim & Dive Team Descend on Joey B’s Restaurant for a Fall Fundraiser

School is in session in Greenwich and Domenick Delfino, owner of Joey B’s again offered up his restaurant for a sports team fundraiser. On Tuesday members of the Greenwich High School swim and dive team worked in shifts behind the counter, taking orders for everything from hot dogs hamburgers to to salads. The restaurant, which is popular with GHS students, and the swimmers each have their favorites from the menu, which they listed as the mac ‘n cheese bites, BBQ chicken sandwich, chicken tenders and Oreo milk shakes respectively. The girls explained that previously the girls water polo team did a fundraiser at Joey B’s, as did the boys water polo and boys swim team, so they thought it would be a good idea to follow suit. “You can really raise a lot of money for your team,” said Ainsleigh Winget, a junior at the high school.
