New Leb Arsenic Update: More Chain Link Fences Are Coming to Byram

Chain link fencing will expand on the William Street ball field, for a time referred to as the Town Green, or “Scheme B” depending on whether in favor or opposed to building the new school on the ballfield. The School District announced on Friday afternoon that at least one test result in Phase 2 testing required notifying CT DEEP of a level of arsenic at 500 mg/kg. Harbor Mooring Permit SNAFU: Protected Birds, Raft-Ups, Murky Issues of Jurisdiction

Thursday’s Board of Selectmen featured a dispute dubbed Osprey vs Osprey, referring to the name of the boat owned by Charles Zoubek, and the Osprey nest the Greenwich Harbor Master says he’ll disturb. Mr. Zoubek had hoped the Selectmen would make a decision on the fate of his mooring permit application. Issues of jurisdiction were hashed over. So too were the nesting patterns of Ospreys.
