Throughout the day, officers showcased specialized units including the SWAT team, dive team, and the department drone program. Police vehicles and equipment were displayed outside headquarters as children and families had the opportunity to speak directly with officers about their roles and training.
Forty-five members partnered with local nonprofits across Greenwich in a day of hands-on service supporting children, families, and community organizations.
The club operator pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to use an interstate facility to promote or facilitate prostitution, which carries a maximum term of imprisonment of five years; one count of conspiracy to defraud the IRS, which carries a maximum term of imprisonment of five years; one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering, which carries a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years; and two counts of engaging in a monetary transaction in property derived from unlawful activity, which carries a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years on each count.

Bruce Museum’s Seaside Center drew a crowd on Sunday. Six Greenwich High School students of Andy Bramante presented their projects, science fair style, with prize money and certificates to be won. There was a tie for “People’s Choice” and a tie for second place. The winner of first place was Margaret Cirino.

Greenwich is undertaking a major initiative to encourage residents to compost their leaves and use them to mulch their lawns. Conservation Commission’s Denise Savageau and senior analyst Aleksandra Moch presented an overview of the plan on Thursday at TownHall. For starters, there will be composting bins at Riverside School and Eastern Middle School, where workshops will be scheduled and children will form clubs and even have composting added to the curriculum in 2nd and 7th grade.
