On Thursday at noon there was a massive salute to Greenwich Hospital healthcare workers from first responders in Greenwich and beyond.
In the moving tribute to the healthcare workers on the front lines, the caravan of ambulances, patrol units, motorcycles, fire trucks and unmarked police cars started on Perryridge Rd in the front of the hospital. The long stream of vehicles proceed around to traffic circle and past the emergency department, back through the service road and the loading dock to the front again.
Sirens and lights flashed. Horns honked. The Westchester County Police helicopter circled overhead over several times.
A couple hundred workers came out to wave at the procession, while others in the building could be spotted in the windows above.
