Greenwich Police Drug Take Back Day Nets 150 Lbs of Expired, Unused, and Unwanted Prescription Drugs

On Saturday in Greenwich, about 150 pounds of medications were received on from citizens during Greenwich Police Drug Take Back Day. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet. Habitat for Humanity Ladies-Only “She Nailed It” Social & Competition

Come to compete or come to show your support for the ladies competing for the Golden Bedazzles Hammer on Wednesday, June 15 at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center. Can’t hit the broad side of a barn? The Beach Report: Off Season Upgrades, Possible Guardrails at Eagle Pond Causeway, and More

At Wednesday’s Parks & Rec meeting there was discussion of improvements to town beaches, including Island Beach and Great Captain’s Island. Due to a snafu with DMV, last year’s stickers will remain valid until Memorial Day. The town is exploring a fix for roadway flooding by the kayak storage area and and possible addition of guardrails along the causeway where recently a stroller with small children rolled into the cold water. Greenwich Tree Conservancy Benefit Reimagines McArdle’s as a Tree House

In less than ten years, Greenwich has lost about 3,000 of its trees. Residents are too familiar with the sight of massive trees falling across roads and power lines during storms and hurricanes. At a benefit at McArdle’s on Friday, the Greenwich Tree Conservancy reaffirmed its commitment to replace lost trees.
