Asleep at Stop Sign on Sheephill, Driver Gets DUI

Greenwich Police were detailed to the area of Sheephill Road and Old Orchard Road on the report of a vehicle running at a stop sign and the operator possibly sleeping behind the wheel on April 24, 2016 at about 4:45am.

The operator, Michael Negron, 25, of 40 Bushnell Street in Hartford, displayed red glassy eyes and the odor associated with the consumption of alcoholic beverages was detected emanating from his person and breath. Mr. Negron was asked to submit to a series of standardized field sobriety tests, which he subsequently failed.

Negron was placed under arrest and charged with Operating Under the Influence. He was unable to post his $250 bond and help at Greenwich Police Dept. He has a court date on May 9, 2016 at Stamford Superior Court.
