Run, walk, drive or bike to Cos Cob on Saturday to check out Mike’s Organic on its grand opening day, starting at 8:00am.
Located at 600 East Putnam Ave, the building that was once home to IHOP and more recently to patio.com, has been reimagined. Today it is bursting with unique products not typically found in the local chain grocery store.
On Thursday, Mike Geller hosted a preview of the store, including a custom cake made by Nanette Koryn of Stupid Good Cake. In addition High Lawn Farm sampled artisanal dairy products, and guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres.
Among the guests were North and Jillian Shutsharawan from Nit Nois and Charlotte Dequeker from Raphaël’s Bakery. Geller will feature dumplings from Nit Nois beginning in August and baguettes from Raphael’s on weekends. A third local partnership will be a sushi station from K Dong’s successful Hinoki.
“The impact is supporting small local farmers and producers, and connecting communities to their food and the people behind it,” Geller said.
Mike’s Organic will be open daily from 8:00am-8:00pm starting Saturday, April 29.
