Tiny Tots is a semi-annual consignment sale that was founded in 2011 by sisters and stay at-home-moms, Annie Schreck and Mary Slaugenhoup. Special incentives are given to event Volunteers and Consignors who donate their unsold product.

Project-Based Learning at GHS Innovation Lab Culminates in Bruce Museum Exhibition

Greenwich High School’s Innovation Lab students were on the spot Tuesday night at Bruce Museum, where they explained their Humanities and STEM self-portrait projects face-to-face with the public. The exhibit followed Monday night’s screening of Most Likely to Succeed, a documentary film that opens with a look back at the origins of public school in the US, and presents a grim outlook for the jobs market, in which blue collar jobs are automated and people, along with both the current K-12 education model are obsolete. The majority of the film focuses on High Tech High, a charter school that, like Innovation Lab at GHS, embraces project based learning and increased collaboration with the community at large. In Old Greenwich, The Nanny Trainers Work with Families and their Nanny or Au Pair

The Nanny Trainers founder Emily Barrett says that unlike hiring a babysitter, if someone is with your child 20 hours a week or more, like it or not, they are helping raise your children. The Nanny Trainers comes up with a game plan, devising routines and schedules for the children. She helps nannies and au pairs with strategies for the particular child.

Riverside School 3rd Grade Teacher’s “The Sweet Spot” and Sequel Picked up by Spellbound River Press

The inspiration for The Sweet Spot came from a conversation Mozer had with the director of a baseball sleep away camp. When asked whether a thirteen-year-old girl could attend the camp, the director said, “I mean I can’t say she can’t come. But, you know it is a sleep away camp, that she would have to sleep here.”

After doing additional research and talking to girls who had experienced being the only girl on a boy’s team, the plot of The Sweet Spot was born. Continue Reading →
