Important dates and information from Greenwich Public Schools on Kindergarten registration and orientation for Fall 2016.
Kindergarten Orientation for 2016-17: March 22
The process begins with a Kindergarten Orientation program for parents at each of the schools on March 22, 2016 (Snow Date: March 24, 2016).
Parents are then asked to make an appointment in March/April 2016 for Kindergarten Registration to verify residency and register incoming Kindergarteners at their respective schools.
Kindergarten Visitation day – June 7, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In June 2016, incoming Kindergarteners are invited to experience Kindergarten classrooms in their school on Kindergarten Visitation day – June 7, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please see attached Kindergarten Orientation and Registration schedules for each of the Greenwich Public Elementary Schools.
All schools will mail invitations for Kindergarten Visitation Day to families that have registered and/or are otherwise known to the schools as having incoming Kindergarten students. Parents/Guardians that have a child entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2016 who do not receive a letter from the school in their attendance area should contact that school office for information on this process. Children who turn five (5) by December 31, 2016 are eligible for Kindergarten.
Last day for this Year’s Kindergarteners in 2016: June 7
Dismissal /buses for this year’s kindergarten classes will be at 12:00 noon on June 7th.
