In Glenville, the weather may have hampered parade plans on Sunday, but did nothing to dampen the spirits of more than 100 Greenwich residents gathered at the Glenville Fire House to mark Memorial Day, and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in order to keep America safe.
Police Chief Chief Jim Heavey, and Glenville Volunteer Fire Co President Sandy Kornberg moved the ceremony indoors, where the standing-room-only crowd listened as the names were read aloud of Glenville residents who gave their lives in service to the United States.
The ceremony began with David Tovar delivering another amazing rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. This was followed by brief comments by First Selectman Fred Camillo, and representatives of the VFW.
