GHS Boys Soccer Team Takes it to the Street in Cos Cob

Screen Shot 2016-08-30 at 3.57.34 PMThe day before the official start of school, the GHS Boys Soccer team took to the streets. A dozen members of the team descended on the Cos Cob hub near Rosie’s, and, with winning smiles and handmade posters, the boys said they’d collected about $100 midway through their efforts.

Their cheers were punctuated with applause as residents happily donated fives and tens into the boys’ collection bucket.

The funds raised will go toward the GHS Soccer Booster Club, which provides broad support for the soccer program, including promoting and encouraging integrity and sportsmanship in all soccer activities, supporting coaches, and raising funds to assist the soccer program.

Specific events funded by the booster club include try-outs, kick-off dinner, practice jerseys, new player duffel bags, varsity t-shirts for each player, clothing scholarships, homecoming parade, senior night, yearbook, soccer website, boy’s alumni game, trophies and reduced end-of-the-year dinner cost and banquet scholarships! Nice work boys. Sometimes people just like to be asked to help!
