At the CIAC Class LL boys outdoor track championships in New Britain on May 30, the Cardinals celebrated earning the team title, finishing ahead of rivals from Hamden. But the win was overturned by CIAC after a religious accommodation allowed a Hamden athlete to compete in the MM meet the following day, Sunday and have his points apply to the previous day’s event. The situation is unprecedented. GHS athletes and parents asked the CIAC to review how the situation was handled.
The 8U team won the Championship, defeating the Pomperaug Panthers 6-1 in front of an incredible home crowd at Banksville.

Sacred Heart Greenwich celebrated the graduation of its 177th class, comprising 69 young women on Friday. Among the 69 graduates, Sacred Heart Greenwich celebrated nine “lifers” who attended the school since Lower School and 12 student-athletes committed to continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level.

Dennis W. Hamilton was arrested on a criminal complaint on February 5, 2016. He is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Alvin W. Garland was also the Director of Athletics for eighteen years and coached football, basketball and track at Greenwich High School.
