At the CIAC Class LL boys outdoor track championships in New Britain on May 30, the Cardinals celebrated earning the team title, finishing ahead of rivals from Hamden. But the win was overturned by CIAC after a religious accommodation allowed a Hamden athlete to compete in the MM meet the following day, Sunday and have his points apply to the previous day’s event. The situation is unprecedented. GHS athletes and parents asked the CIAC to review how the situation was handled.

An employee at a gas station on East Putnam Ave was arrested on May 16 and charged with Disorderly Conduct. According to Greenwich Police, Raza Jafri, 53, of McMullen Ave in Stamford grabbed a customer by the shirt around 3:40am on Wednesday.
