Four Men Arrested after Incident at Chase Bank in Old Greenwich

Four men were arrested at Chase Bank on Sound Beach Ave on Sept 18 by Greenwich Police. Police received a report of a subject attempting to commit a fraudulent transaction. Police say Tommy Cruz of 88th Ave in Queens attempted to fraudulently withdraw money from an account that was not his. Additionally he possessed falsified documents and impersonated the account owner. After an investigation and based on bank employee statements Mr. Cruz was charged with Criminal Attempt Larceny 3, illegal Payment Card Fraud, Identity Theft 3, Criminal Impersonation, Forgery 2, and Forgery 3. Greenwich Man Charged with Investment Fraud Scheme

As alleged in the indictment, Lenny Pollak owned a Norwalk-based company that organized trade shows and expositions throughout the US. In mid-2013, Pollak induced an acquaintance to invest $290,000 in a new business venture that was supposed to organize similar expositions in the Ukraine. Instead of using the money to build the new business, Pollak spent nearly all of it on unrelated business and personal expenses, including Pollak’s home mortgage loan, groceries and clothing, automobiles, and private school tuition.
