North Mianus School Assistant Principal Appointment Announced

On Thursday, Greenwich Public Schools Interim Superintendent Ralph Mayo announced the appointment of Ms. Sarah Obuchowski as the North Mianus School Assistant Principal, effective October 18, 2018.

Ms. Obuchowski is currently working for the Stamford Public Schools at Newfield Elementary School as a Scientific Based Research Interventions (SRBI) Support Teacher and oversees 504 compliance plans.

“The members of the interview committee were very impressed with Sarah’s knowledge of effective teaching practice and her ability to use data to personalize strategies resulting in positive student outcomes,” NMS Principal Angela Schmidt said. “I am confident that Sarah’s strong interpersonal skills coupled with her desire to be an advocate for students will make her a welcome addition to the North Mianus School community.”

Administrative candidates are selected after a comprehensive search and appointment process, which includes widespread recruitment efforts, multiple interviews, and extensive reference and background checks.

In 2008, Ms. Obuchowski began her career in education with the Darien Public Schools, Darien CT at Hindley Elementary School as a Grade 4 Inclusion Teacher. In 2010, she moved to Grade 2 as an Inclusion Teacher and was also appointed Team Leader for the grade level.
