Pemberwick Residents Advised by DPW to Share Responsibility for Flood Risk Reduction

The town plans to replace the trash rack and drainage pipes in the area of Pemberwick Park, and work with the Parks Dept to do better maintenance upstream. Also there is a ACE project to improve flow by rebuilding bridges for Byram River under Rte 1. All that said, Jim Michel from DPW, reminded Pemberwick residents they were at the base of a large watershed, that West Lyon Farm was not the reason for the 2021 flooding, and that they needed to share the burden of flood risk reduction.
