Charles Nicholas Edwards’s passing on Sunday, November 6, 2022 was announced by Cranston Family Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA

Charles Nicholas Edwards III, 76, of Fairfield, IA passed away on November 6, 2022 at his home.  As were his wishes, his body will be cremated.  His life will be celebrated, and he will be remembered by his many friends and family.

Charles “Nick” has left us here in Fairfield while sitting in Meditation.  One could not imagine a more blissful transition.  We will miss his wonderful sense of humor (Oh the Jokes!), his calm and even demeanor and skills as a problem solver, all of which made him a beloved member in Fairfield and Connecticut.  He worked for almost 30 years as a social worker for the town of Greenwich as well as Representative town government.  Actively involved in his son’s Boy Scout Troop, President of Kiwanis for 7 years, Secretary of the Red Man Organization (the group that threw the tea into Boston Harbor!) and longtime outreach member for Christ Church, service was an important part of his life.

He was a 50 year meditator and a 48 year teacher.  He taught many people in Darien and Greenwich, CT and helped at Bridgewater in Westport for over 5 years.

He leaves behind his wife, Christine Larson Edwards, his son Charles “Nick” Edwards IV (wife Lauren Wilcox), his brother Rick and wife Liz, and his niece Isabel (husband Shawn) and nephews, Fred, Homer (wife Rebecca) and Jacob, plus many other nieces and nephews.

He died at his happiest time, having moved to Fairfield where he became engaged in the Community, volunteering at the Civic/Arts Center and working as an MIU volunteer.
