On Tuesday Little Pub and Adopt-A-Dog are partnering up for a kick-off event before the 28th annual Puttin’ on the Dog festival.
Little Pub will donate 10% of the entire day’s proceeds to the longtime non-profit whose mission is to save, socialize and secure loving homes for unwanted or abandoned dogs and cats.
At 5pm, the Adopt a Dog team will arrive with Kratos and Athena, who are great dogs in need of Homes.
Kratos is a three year old Lab mix who likes to hang out and play ball. He will never deny a good belly rub of course & would be the perfect partner for some loving kids looking for a four-legged friend. He is good with other dogs and children.
Athena true to her name is a goddess. She is so pretty and is a tried and true hound. She loves to use her nose to explore her surroundings. Athena is happy just with a simple walk to a new area she still has not discovered. We recently pulled Athena along with her friend Artie from a rescue in CT. They had both been transported up from the south and we are unsure of their history before making it to the shelter. She can be a little shy when first meeting someone but will quickly come up to say hello. Once Athena is allowed to make that everlasting bond with a forever family she will be a loyal companion.
Also, award-winning singer/songwriter Griffin Anthony, will lend his talents to the fundraiser beginning at 8:00pm.
The nationally renowned artist will be performing original acoustic songs from his new album, The Making of a Man, including his track written specially for the SPCA, Nobody Loves Like You.
The 28th annual Puttin’ on the Dog event will take place on Sept. 20 from 10:00am until 4:30pm in Roger Sherman Baldwin Park.
Tickets are available for purchase in advance on the Adopt-A-Dog website.
Adopt-A-Dog was founded over three decades ago when three women had a vision. Donna Nives, Gloria Scheuer and Pam Fahnestock became concerned about the growing number of animals languishing in area shelters. Since then, Adopt-A-Dog has been working toward that end. Recently, Adopt-A-Dog participated in the Clear the Shelters event, resulting in 19 dogs adopted.
Adopt-A-Dog is located at 23 Cox Ave in Armonk.
Little Pub is located in Cos Cob at 531 East Putnam Ave.
