With weather in the single digits, here are some important tips that can keep you safe and save a small fortune. For example, you should keep your gas tank at least half full. If there a prolonged power outage, gas stations rely on electricity to operate pumps and may not have a generator. Also, drip faucets to reduce build-up of pressure in the pipes. Greenwich Public Schools are closed Monday, Feb. 2 due to snow storm. The MTA is running a regular schedule. Greenwich Libraries are closed. The winter storm warning is in effect until 6pm Monday night. Snow, freezing rain and sleet during the day will change to snow after 4pm. The Town’s Emergency Operations Center will be activated at 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 26. The Board of Selectmen have declared a snow emergency. Vehicles are not permitted to be parked or otherwise remain standing or stationary on posted Snow Emergency routes.
