Neighbor to Neighbor and Dogwood Books present A Conversation with Co-screenwriter of the movie, “TONY.”
Todd Bartels will be interviewed by stand-up comedian, Greenwich resident, Jane Condon (his mom) Friday, November 20, 6:00 pm.
Before Anthony Bourdain became a bestselling author, celebrated chef, and fearless world traveler, one pivotal summer in Provincetown changed the course of his life.
Join us for a fascinating behind-the-scenes conversation with Todd Bartels, co-writer of TONY, the new film starring Dominic Sessa as a young Anthony Bourdain and Antonio Banderas, as his mentor. Inspired by Bourdain’s bestselling memoir, Kitchen Confidential, the film explores the experiences that launched his remarkable career—and helped shape the candid, curious, boundary-pushing voice the world came to love.

Todd will share how he walked in Bourdain’s footsteps in Provincetown, what it took to get the script greenlit, how the film came together, and stories from behind the scenes in Hollywood.
Todd Bartels grew up in Greenwich and is a graduate of Greenwich Country Day School. He studied Buddhism and Hinduism at Harvard and received an MFA from the NYU Graduate Acting Program, but soon turned to writing. He served as Associate Director of the Harvardwood Television Program, where he mentored young writers.
We promise you a delightful evening. Todd will be interviewed by his mother, acclaimed stand-up comedian and Greenwich resident Jane Condon. Expect a lively, funny, and wonderfully candid conversation worthy of Bourdain himself.
The event will take place at Christ Church Greenwich’s Dogwood Books & Gifts, 254 East Putnam Ave, Greenwich, CT.
Tickets are $35 and include a paperback copy of Kitchen Confidential, plus a reception with wine, refreshments, and charcuterie.
Proceeds benefit the Neighbor to Neighbor Food Pantry. Their mission is to strengthen the Greenwich community by providing weekly access to nutritious food and other essentials at no cost to income-eligible residents, all within an atmosphere of kindness and respect.
