Dog Dilemma: Kara is Healthy, Smart & Eager, but Deteriorates in a Kennel

Kara was found tied outside a high-kill shelter and had been abused. Her DNA says she is 50% German Shepherd, 25% Cocker Spaniel and 25% American Staffie, but she looks like a Greyhound. At Adopt-A-Dog, she is triggered by the barking dogs and deteriorates almost immediately, so she really needs a permanent home. If you’re not in the position to adopt Kara, please share her. Bella, Pulled from Stamford Shelter by Adopt-A-Dog. An Amiable Gem!

Meet Bella. Pet (and people) photographer Geoffrey Tischman was so taken by Bella when he photographed her that he asked us to please feature this sweet girl. Bella  was a resident at Stamford Animal Care and Control for nine months prior to being pulled by Adopt-A-Dog.  She was an owner surrender due to landlord issues and lived with cats, children and other dogs. Bella was a favorite of the Stamford Animal Care and Control volunteers and they are all thrilled to see her get out of the shelter and into Adopt-A-Dog shelter and sanctuary where she is visibly less stressed. She is a spayed female Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She is four years old and weighs about 70 lbs. Continue Reading →
