See You at Puttin-On-The-Dog!

Screen Shot 2014-09-20 at 8.52.40 AMIt’s almost here. Dog fans anticipate this event every fall and Sunday is supposed to be sunny and warm. Yes, Adopt-A-Dog is hosting its 27th annual “Puttin’ On The Dog” event in Roger Sherman Baldwin Park on Sunday, Sept. 21 from 10:00am til 4:30pm.

Stop by the Greenwich Free Press tent and say hello. In the meantime, we’re busy baking Eleni’s recipe for dog treats to share at the event. (This was one of the projects she did with a visiting Girl Scout troop a few months ago.) Also we’ll be sharing Walkers scottie dog shaped shortbread for humans.

  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ cup flour

Preheat oven to 350°

Mix egg, peanut butter and milk in a large mixing bowl. Add flour and salt.

TIP: If the dough is too stiff, add water, a little at a time until the dough is more manageable

On a floured surface, roll out dough to ¼ inch thickness and use a cookie cutter to cut into shapes. Bake on a greased cookie sheet for 35 to 40 minutes, until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
